Weights of Art®
When weight becomes image
Weights of Art starts from an object the body knows before the eye does: the kettlebell. The same mass becomes a head, a bust, an animal, an object of desire or a symbol, while the handle remains as a trace of its original use. Weight here is twofold, physical and existential: the images, ideals, desires and roles we carry every day. The works come in numbered editions named after boxing weight classes.
