The helmet of the ancient hoplite is one of the most familiar images of courage. In the Warrior Kettlebell it becomes the body of the weight, with its crest and cheek guards, worn and scratched in the silver and blue finish as if it had been to battle. The work looks at heroism and aggression, at self-image and the wish to appear invincible. It belongs to The Weights of Ego.
Editions and dimensions
The Warrior Kettlebell is made in 2 numbered editions, named after boxing weight classes: Heavyweight, an edition of 30 pieces (25 × 18 × 13 cm, 3 kg); and Middleweight, an edition of 60 pieces (20 × 14 × 10 cm, 1 kg). The form is the same in every edition; only scale and mass change.
Colours and finishes
It is made in 7 colours: black, blue, yellow, orange, magenta, green and red. Special finishes, with more work by hand: silver & blue, scarred; gold; copper; and silver. Other colours can be made on request.
