"Hangers of the Public Space"
A Social Art Project
The project “The Symbol of Reciprocity, or Hangers of the Public Space” is a social art initiative developed in the Municipality of Filothei-Psychiko together with Dr Eleni Polychronatou. Its aim is to create a new way of gathering and exchanging goods, built on the axes of art, reuse and social contribution.
The philosophy of the work
The project proposes an object of common use, in wood or metal, designed as a “living sculpture” that transforms the public space. Its structure is simple and functional: three straight lengths tied at the middle, standing no higher than 180 cm. Its form allows for interaction, since its appearance and its function change continuously through the participation of those who use it.
“Art is our contact with the community, and it supports the vision of a person who feels that we are TOGETHER.”
