"Eutopia" at the Museum of Cycladic Art
Art as a Means of Social Awareness
A Partnership of Art and Social Responsibility
As part of the Roche Hellas initiative and the #foramelefko (“wear white”) awareness campaign, in 2019 the artist Ennios Eros Giogos presented “Eutopia” at the Museum of Cycladic Art, an action dedicated to the prevention of lung cancer. Using white as his principal creative vehicle and as the international symbol of the campaign, the artist traced a luminous path of optimism, in which information and a positive outlook lead to the realisation of a collective “Eutopia”. The work operated as a bridge between artistic expression and the need for social awakening, encouraging those present to take an active stance towards prevention.

The campaign was held under the auspices of leading scientific bodies, among them the Hellenic Society of Medical Oncology (HeSMO), the Hellenic Cancer Federation (ELLOK) and the Hellenic Society of Radiation Oncology. Distinguished public figures joined the effort as ambassadors, among them Smaragda Karydi, Mario Frangoulis and Panagiotis Giannakis, reinforcing the message of information and awareness. Through this collaboration, Giogos’ “Eutopia” brought out the power of art to mobilise society and to offer hope, turning an awareness action into a lived artistic experience.
