Cycladic Idol Kettlebell
The Weights of Origin

Inquire about this workAbout the Cycladic Idol Kettlebell
Cycladic figurines, carved in marble more than four thousand years ago, are among the most recognisable forms of early Greek art: a face with only a nose, a body reduced to essentials. In the Cycladic Idol Kettlebell the figure raises its arms above its head and they close into the handle, so the idol itself holds up the weight. It brings one of the oldest images of the human figure in the Aegean into dialogue with one of the most recognisable shapes of today. It belongs to The Weights of Origin, with Trinity Torus.
Editions and dimensions
The Cycladic Idol Kettlebell is made in 3 numbered editions, named after boxing weight classes: Heavyweight, an edition of 30 pieces (38 × 30 × 10 cm, 5 kg); Middleweight, an edition of 60 pieces (25 × 20 × 12 cm, 1.5 kg); and Featherweight, an edition of 90 pieces (20 × 16 × 9 cm). The form is the same in every edition; only scale and mass change.
Colours and finishes
It is made in 11 colours: sandstone beige, white, black, blue, yellow, orange, magenta, green, red, pink and silver. Other colours can be made on request.
